Privacy Policy

Appointmunk is made by Munks LLC, the company behind the munks family of Shopify apps. This policy explains what data we handle, why we handle it, and what we never do with it.

The website

If you join our notify list, we store the email address you give us and use it to send updates about Appointmunk — launches and meaningful product news. You can unsubscribe at any time by emailing hello@munks.app, and we never sell the list or share it for marketing. That's the only personal data this website collects: no analytics trackers, no advertising cookies.

The Appointmunk app

When you install Appointmunk on your Shopify store, Shopify sends us your store's domain and an API access token. We store that token encrypted and use it only to operate the app for your store.

• We store the scheduling configuration you set up — store hours, staff, locations, and appointment types.
• When your customers book an appointment, we store the booking details they submit — name, email, phone number if provided, and the appointment time — so we can show the booking in your admin and send transactional email such as confirmations, reminders, and cancellation notices.
• Your customers' booking data belongs to your store. We never use it for marketing, never sell it, and never contact your customers except for the transactional email above.
• If a customer asks to be forgotten through Shopify's privacy tools, we anonymize their past bookings. Bookings from the last 60 days and upcoming appointments keep their details so your store can still honor them, and are anonymized once they age past that window.

Shopify privacy requests, handled automatically

Appointmunk implements Shopify's mandatory compliance webhooks: customers/data_request, customers/redact, and shop/redact. Privacy requests you or your customers make through Shopify are delivered to us automatically. When you uninstall Appointmunk, Shopify tells us to delete your store's data — and we do.

Where your data lives

Our application runs on Laravel Cloud in the United States. We share data only with the service providers that host and run the platform — application hosting, transactional email delivery, and Google Fonts, which serves the typefaces on our pages (Google receives standard request data, like your IP address, when the fonts load). We don't sell personal data, we don't run ads, and we don't share data with anyone else.

Retention

Notify-list emails are kept until you unsubscribe. App data is kept while Appointmunk is installed on your store and deleted when Shopify sends the post-uninstall cleanup request.

Security

All traffic is encrypted in transit with TLS, and API access tokens are encrypted at rest.

Your rights

You can ask us what data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — email hello@munks.app and we'll take care of it. If you're a merchant, your customers' requests made through Shopify reach us automatically via the webhooks above.

Children

Our websites and apps are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top.
